Lauderdale ROF is a lovely Friesian Sporthorse gelding, foaled April 22nd, 2009.

Lauderdale ROF's sire is the Elite Book Friesian Sporthorse stallion Lexington. Lexington has been a very successful in competition, proving himself as a dressage horse with numerous year-end awards. He is also one of the most popular and best known Friesian Sporthorse stallions in the US, and was recently featured in an article about Friesian Sporthorses. He is also one of the only Friesian Sporthorse stallions in the US to be fully Approved for Breeding. Lexington made his Third Level debut as a 6YO as the Third Level Reserve Champion with a 69% at Third Level Test 3. He also has a fabulous temperament, a proven pedigree, and scored a rare '10' for Sporthorse Potential at his stallion inspection. Lauderdale ROF's dam is the Friesian Sporthorse mare Koloa. Koloa is by the imported Friesian stallion Pieter fan Lutke Peinjum, who is the sire of numerous successful Friesian Sporthorses, including the 2006 FSH Horse of the Year. Pieter fan Lutke Peinjum was also the highest ranked Friesian stallion on the USEF's list of Leading Dressage Sires for 2009.

Lauderdale is a lovely gelding. He has good conformation, strong hindquarters, good bone, a lovely neck, and three nice gaits which even at this young age demonstrate power and natural balance. We expect Lauderdale would be especially talented as a dressage horse, like his sire. He also has a friendly, curious attitude, and seems to be very level-headed.

Lauderdale ROF is a full brother to Lennox ROF, who was also bred by us. Lennox was foaled in 2007, and was sold even before he was weaned. He was purchased as an FEI dressage prospect. We were so happy with Lennox that we actually repeated the breeding in hopes of a filly to add to our small broodmare herd, but although we got the quality we were aiming for, we got it in the form of another colt!

We expect Lauderdale to mature around 16.1+ hands. His sire is 16 hands, and his dam is 16.1 hands, and while all logic would have him maturing around 16.1, his full brother Lennox already looks like he is going to be taller than that estimate by at least an inch or two, based on reports we've gotten from his owner. Lauderdale is black, in spite of the odd coloring in his foal photos, and the sun bleaching in some of this other photos.
