Lexington ~ High Score Champion Again!
Lexington once again was the High Score Overall winner and the First Level High Score at the recent Southeast Sizzler dressage competition, July 4 & 5, 2009.  Lexington's score was one of only two scores to break 70% the whole weekend...  We're very proud of Lexington!

Another foal, and this
time a filly!
May 18, 2009
Miramar foaled a beautiful healthy pinto filly early in the morning on May 18th.  We're very excited, as we'd hoped for a healthy pinto filly, and we got exactly that!  She is by our Elite Book Friesian Sporthorse stallion Lexington, and out of our Main Book pinto Friesian Sporthorse mare Miramar, and will be eligible for Main Book registration.  Her name is Laguna ROF.
(Please excuse the mud -- it has rained here for nearly a week straight, but when it stopped briefly we decided to give these two a little chance to get out and play!)

Our first 2009 foal is here!
Our first foal of 2009 was born Wednesday April 22nd.  He is a wonderful healthy Friesian Sporthorse colt by our Elite Book Friesian Sporthorse stallion Lexington and out of our Friesian Sporthorse mare Koloa.  This is the second time we've bred this cross -- the first one turned out so nice, we decided to repeat it.  We were hoping for a keeper filly, so we'll be trying one more time with this cross, meanwhile this super colt will be offered for sale in the future, if you'd like to check back...
Lexington's 2nd 2009 foal is here!
Lexington's second foal (bred/owned by Diane in NY) was born April 25th, and is an adorable healthy filly.  She is by our Elite Book Friesian Sporthorse stallion Lexington, and out of an Appaloosa Sport Horse mare named Pikturesque Nikou.  Pikturesque Nikou is by the Appaloosa stallion NF Theodore (by Wap Spotted) and out of the Hanoverian mare Pik Dame (by Pik Koenig.)  Congratulations Diane and Tyra!
This filly may be offered for sale by her breeder, if you'd like to check back...

RHS Dressage Show
November 8 & 9, 2008
Both stallions had another very successful weekend at the RHS Dressage Show, November 8 & 9, 2008.  Lexington won First Level Test 1, First Level Test 3, and First Level Test 4, and he placed 2nd (behind G Walkabout) in First Level Test 2, with scores to 71.7%.  G Walkabout won First Level Test 2 and the FEI YH 5YO Test, and finished 2nd (behind Lexington) in First Level Test 1 and First Level Test 4, with scores to 72.2%.  Scoring was not high -- only a handful of rides scored into the 70's, and four of them were earned by River Oaks Farm horses!

This weekend was alot of fun, and this was a really nice show.  Rocking Horse Stables is famous as a world class eventing facility, and we were thrilled to see them host their first recognized dressage competition in nearly 20 years.  Rumor has it this show was so successful, they're considering having another one...  We hope they do!
Inspection Results
October 4, 2008
Congratulations to Americus ROF (by Nico), Limited Painted Edition (by Lexington), and Geneva (by G Walkabout).  All three colts did wonderfully at the recent AWS inspection on October 4th, and all three earned "Preferred" status from AWS.  Americus (bred by River Oaks Farm) and Limited Painted Edition (bred by K. Peavy) also scored high enough to earn Bronze Elite status thru the Friesian Sporthorse Association.  Geneva (bred by Carrie Simmons) won the Gold Medal for the highest score of the inspection, scoring an impressive "8" for Sporthorse Potential.

USDF Year-End Results are Final!
Lexington has finished 19th nationally for 2008 USDF Dressage Horse of the Year for Training Level, and is also the All-Breeds Champion for Training Level for the Friesian Sporthorse Association, with a median score of 72.450%!  G Walkabout has finished 35th nationally for 2008 USDF Dressage Horse of the Year for Training Level, and is also the All-Breeds Champion for Training Level for the RPSI*, with a median score of 71.115%!  Over 6000 horses competed at Training Level in 2008, with only 579 of them even qualifying to be eligible for year-end ranking, so a 19th place finish and a 35th place finish are both very impressive for these two young stallions!

We have our first foal of 2008 - Boca ROF
March 19, 2008
Our Friesian Sporthorse mare Kona gave birth to a Friesian Sporthorse filly early this morning (around 1AM.)  Both mother and baby appear to be doing well -- more photos and updates will be added!  This filly is by the imported cremello German Warmblood "Blue Eyed Dream" and is a "smokey black", meaning she will appear black, but carries the cream gene and could have palomino, buckskin, or smokey black foals.    Click on either of the foal photos to see more photos.....   (several new photos added Friday March 28th!)
Our second foal of 2008!

Fox Lea ~ ADA Double Delight II
April 2008
Gigha also showed both Lexington and G Walkabout at the Double Delight II competition, where they did just as fabulously as they did at Double Delight I.  The only horses who could beat the River Oaks stallions, were River Oaks stallions!  This time was G Walkabout's turn to shine, being named the Double Delight II Champion High Score, and becoming the first horse to defeat Lexington, beating him twice to leave Lexington in 2nd place.  Both stallions had fabulous scores, with G Walkabout earning scores of 72.4% and 74.6% and winning both of his classes, and Lexington earning scores of 71.2%, 72.2%, and 72.5%, winning one class, and finishing 2nd behind Walkabout in the other two!
Fox Lea ~ ADA Double Delight I
April 2008
Gigha showed both Lexington and G Walkabout at the Double Delight I dressage competition, and both did fabulously.  Lexington won both of his classes, with scores of 74.6% and 74.8%, and was also the Double Delight I Champion High Score.  G Walkabout also did quite well, finishing 2nd and 4th, with scores of 70.4% and 66.4%.
American Warmblood Inspection - Lexington and G Walkabout both Approved for Breeding!
May 3, 2008
Lexington and G Walkabout were both presented at the American Warmblood Society's inspection on Saturday May 3rd, 2008.  Approximately twenty-six horses, including 7 stallions, were presented.  Lexington and G Walkabout were the only horses (stallions or mares) to be Approved for Breeding ~ a designation awarded to less than 4% of horses inspected!  G Walkabout earned the AWS's highest designation of "Supreme" and was the Gold Medal winner for the highest inspection score.  Lexington earned the AWS's second highest designation of "Blue Preferred" and was the Silver Medal winner for the second highest inspection score (behind G Walkabout.)  G Walkabout was already Approved for Breeding with the AWS, and now Lexington is Approved for Breeding as well.
Lexington Approved for Breeding with the Friesian Sporthorse Association!
Lexington fulfilled the final requirements to be Approved for Breeding with the Friesian Sporthorse Association on May 3rd.  This makes Lexington the first stallion to be Approved for Breeding by the FSA!
Canterbury May Days Qualifier Show Results - Lexington and G Walkabout
May 10 & 11, 2008
Lexington and G Walkabout had another great show at the Canterbury May Days Qualifier May 10th and 11th.  Lexington competed in three Training Level classes with scores ranging from 70.7% to 72.4%, winning two classes, and finishing 2nd behind G Walkabout in the third class (once again the only horse who could defeat Lexington is G Walkabout!)  G Walkabout competed in two Training Level classes, finishing 2nd behind Lexington in one class, and winning the other class with a 71.4%.
G Walkabout also competed for the first time at First Level, coming in a close 2nd with some stiff competition, with a score of 70.8%.  We expect to have more photos from this competition to add to the website shortly, so please check back!

Current Year-End Award Standings
As of July 10, 2008, Lexington is ranked 7th for the USDF Horse of the Year for Training Level, with a median score of 72.450%, and G Walkabout is ranked 10th for the USDF Horse of the Year for Training Level, with a median score of 71.115%.  We are very proud of both of these stallions!  (The awards year ends September 30th, so these rankings could change, check back!)
Baltic ROF (Friesian Sporthorse)
Baltic ROF is sold...
July 2008
Congratulations Kelly!  We should be seeing more of this exciting young colt in the future.  Not only is Baltic an exceptional colt, but he is also the only registered Friesian Sporthorse known to carry the cream gene (which will enable him to sire buckskins and palominos, along with the traditional colors.)  His new owner may keep him as a stallion prospect -- he should be a nice addition to the Friesian Sporthorse stallion roster in a couple of years!
Baltic ROF
Happy 2008!
Thank you to our friends, family, and clients for helping to make 2007 such a good year ~ may 2008 be an even better year for all of us!  Our website will continue to include updates, so please check back often.  Early bird specials on the stallions are good thru Feb. 14th.  We are expecting three foals in 2008 also, check back for news and photos!
