G Walkabout -- AWS Inspection Stallion of the Year Award Winner
Congratulations to G Walkabout (Approved, Elite, /*/*/ / /), who was recently announced as the Bronze medal winner for 2007 for mature stallions (3 yrs. and older), for the American Warmblood Society. G Walkabout is also featured twice in the recent issue of the Warmblood Whisper. (As a side note, Cordelano (Chant de Paix x Oceanna), bred by Gigha Steinman, is also featured in this issue, pg. 5.)
G Walkabout
Arredondo Dressage Show
November 2007
All three stallions competed in the recent Arredondo recognized dressage show, and all did quite well!
This was Lexington's first competition, and he did
very well. He was only entered in one class (Training Level Test 2) which he won with an impressive 73%, making him the ADS Champion for the weekend.
G Walkabout also competed at Training Level, winning both of his classes (Training Level Tests 1 & 4) with scores of 70% and 72%!
Charleston made his debut at Fourth Level, placing 2nd with a score of 60%. This is even more impressive because Charleston is only 7 years old, which speaks volumes for his temperament and trainability.
We were thrilled with all three of the stallions!

Fox Lea ~ ADA Double Delight II
April 2008
Gigha also showed both Lexington and G Walkabout at the Double Delight II competition, where they did just as fabulously as they did at Double Delight I. The only horses who could beat the River Oaks stallions, were River Oaks stallions! This time was G Walkabout's turn to shine, being named the Double Delight II Champion High Score, and becoming the first horse to defeat Lexington, beating him twice to leave Lexington in 2nd place. Both stallions had fabulous scores, with G Walkabout earning scores of 72.4% and 74.6% and winning both of his classes, and Lexington earning scores of 71.2%, 72.2%, and 72.5%, winning one class, and finishing 2nd behind Walkabout in the other two!

Lexington and G Walkabout were both presented at the American Warmblood Society's inspection on Saturday May 3rd, 2008. Approximately twenty-six horses, including 7 stallions, were presented. Lexington and G Walkabout were the only horses (stallions or mares) to be Approved for Breeding ~ a designation awarded to less than 4% of horses inspected! G Walkabout earned the AWS's highest designation of "Supreme" and was the Gold Medal winner for the highest inspection score. Lexington earned the AWS's second highest designation of "Blue Preferred" and was the Silver Medal winner for the second highest inspection score (behind G Walkabout.) G Walkabout was already Approved for Breeding with the AWS, and now Lexington is Approved for Breeding as well.
